Meet & Greet
The majority of dogs find going to a salon for the first time a nervous experience, it’s a little like us doing to the dentist – If done regularly there shouldn’t be any bad experiences. Imagine going to a new dentist for the first time and having a bad experience, it will make you nervous about your next visit.
Booking in for a meet & greet is great as you as the owner can get to see the salon, the dog can get familiar with the noises and smells as well as the groomer without any possible negative experience. During the meet & greet I can assess the coat type and temprement so we can go through options and get you booked in for your first groom with Wizard of Paws.
Puppy Confidence
The world can be a big and scary place to even the most confident puppy. Once your pup has had their second vaccination they should start to get used to places that they’re going to visit often such as the grooming salon or the vets.
We have a puppy confidence package where we introduce them to the salon and give them their first grooming experience over 2 sessions (more than 2 if necessary).
Full Dog Grooms
We suggest that your dog gets a full groom every 6 to 10 weeks depending on the breed and coat type. Wizard of Paws can provide the following full dog grooming treatments in Tidworth depending on the dog’s coat type:
Leaving too much time between full grooms can lead to excessive knotting which can be painful for the dog and if left for too long may not be able to be removed without being fully shaved off.

Full Groom/Haircut (The Full Works)
- Pamper your dog with a full make-over
- Discuss with your groomer what you would like your dog to look like
- We can advise what the groom standard is or if you have preference for the style you like we’ll certainly work with you to achieve your desired outcome where possible
- Includes:
- Full hair cut (using clippers and/or scissors)
Deshed
- Breeds with a double coat will need some assistance in removing the softer undercoat
- The physical removal of the loose undercoat is called deshedding
- Dogs with this type of coat should never be clipped and can lead to ongoing issues
- We’ll remove the dead hair from your dog’s coat leaving the coat looking neater
- Leaves your dog more comfortable (sadly this won’t prevent natural shedding of the coat)
- Includes:
- Deshedding (brushed out to remove a large proportion of dead hair)
Handstrip
- We’re qualified and have lots of experience in the dark art of hand stripping of wired coats
- Hand stripping involves pulling the top layer of coat
- Leaves a lovely softer coat underneath, encouraging great coat texture and colour
- By physically removing the dead hair rather than relying on it falling out naturally, you should notice less hair around your home
- Available for wire coated breeds depending on coat suitability
- Includes:
- Removal of dead coat without being clipped
Bath & Brush
- Does your dog run away whenever the bath starts running at home?
- Keep your dog’s coat mat free and fresh smelling, this treatment is perfect between full grooms
- Great when your dog is starting to smell or feel oily to the touch
- Perfect after a muddy weekend walk or before visiting friends or family
- Includes:
- A lovely warm bath in our specialised dog bath
- The use of cruelty-free shampoos designed for dog coats
- Using blaster & brushes to remove mats leaving the coat in a soft and knot free condition
Puppy Confidence Package
- A great way to start to socialise your puppy with new people and new places
- Build a strong relationship between dog and groomer to last a lifetime
- Reduce the dog’s stress about being brushed and bathed
- Get your bundle of fluff used to grooming services without cutting their coat with scissors or clippers and book them in first their first puppy groom
- Session 1 (30mins):
- Acclimatise the puppy to the salon, grooming table and the sound of equipment including dryers and clippers.
- The puppy’s nails are clipped, their pads are trimmed (if needed), ears and eyes are cleaned
- Session 2:
- As per session 1 plus a warm bath, a gentle dry using dryer and towels and trimming around the eyes using scissors.
- If your pup isn’t comfortable after session 2, further sessions may be required to build their confidence before progressing onto a full groom
Teeth Cleaning (Deplaquing)
- Does your dog have stinky breath or yellowing teeth?
- Have the vets advised that you should brush your dog’s teeth but they won’t let you?
- We offer a teeth cleaning service either by the session or over a course of 5 sessions using an ultrasonic toothbrush
